Name Change Reflects
Broadened Human Rights Agenda
The Chairman of the Foundation for Religious
Tolerance United Kingdom are pleased to announce the Foundation's
new name:
Foundation for Human Rights and Tolerance
United Kingdom.
Born out of the expansion of the Foundation for Religious
Tolerance, the new name reflects a broadened agenda made necessary
by severe human rights violations in near and far quarters
of the globe. Moreover, it best describes the mandate of Foundation
members to take effective action to ensure that all people
have the basic rights and freedoms as set forth in the United
Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Foundation for Human Rights and Tolerance United Kingdom,
with the support of its growing membership, will continue
the mission and activities of the original Foundation. Freedom
of religion and belief are taken for granted by some who do
not realize the extent of abuse that exists in often surprising
places. The Foundation will continue to expand its programes
to educate in the fields of human rights and tolerance, particularly
the youth of the world. Supporters will find more opportunities
to take effective action than before.
The Foundation is a non-profit association that was established
in 2001. Today its executives and members are of multiple
faiths and ethnicity. For more information, read the History
of the Foundation and find out about our Goals
and Purposes.
